I went to the Dorman parts online page and submitted the information for the proportioning valve for the 91-95 Ford Taurus/Mercury Sable wagon part. Then I called them.
They take the new product/old product part information seriously. I let them know that I can ship the old part to them if it would help. I also gave them the OE (original equipment) part number from Ford also. I know this will help get the part back on the market.
If you have a part on a vehicle that you can no longer get and have to find through a junkyard/savage yard, please get the part number by calling the dealer with your VIN (vehicle identification number) and write it down, along with the part name. Then go online and click the NEW PRODUCT IDEA at the top of the page. Please leave ALL contact information there with part number, the part you need, and they will call or email you back. I am looking forward to hearing from them about the proportioning valve! I hope to make this a reality soon! I'm happy to be able to help other wagon owners as well!
I'm off to call some Driving Schools to see if I can go and speak to the students about maintenance - because even though driving a car is a HUGE responsibility, you also need to be responsible for taking care of it while you are using it.
